Detailed description
To mark the University of Southampton's 60th anniversary this year the International Office are delighted to announce the launch of the following new scholarships for outstanding students.
In order to be eligible for one of these awards applicants must:
  • be international tuition fee payers
  • have applied for, and have firmly accepted a conditional or unconditional offer for a full time programme at the University of Southampton by the closing date
  • be domiciled in the relevant country
  • be not in receipt of any other funding from University of Southampton
Application forms can be downloaded athttp://www.southampton.ac.uk/international/scholarships/index.shtml and the deadline for submission is 30 June 2012. Awards will be deducted from the first year of undergraduate tuition fee or the one-year Foundation/Master tuition fee.

All candidates who have applied and been made an offer for the International Foundation Year, the Engineering / Science Foundation Year by the closing date will automatically be considered for one of these awards. Awards will be made on the basis of academic merit.
Azerbaijan4 awards of £1,500 towards academic feesStudents should have achieved a minimum overall score of 4.5 out of 5 in Attestat30 June
GeorgiaStudents should have achieved a minimum overall score of 4 out of 5 or overall 80% in Attestat or equivalent
LibyaStudents should have achieved a minimum overall GPA of 85% in their high school certificate
NigeriaStudents should have achieved a minimum of four subjects at A1
VietnamStudents should have achieved a minimum overall GPA of 8.0 in their high school certificate

UK based international applicants1 award of £5,000 towards academic feesThe first year of study on any undergraduate programme. Awards will be made on the basis of academic merit. Offer holders who have achieved at least 75% on a recognised foundation programme or 3 "A" grades at A-Level will be considered.30 June
Cambodia1 award of £5,000 towards academic feesThe International Foundation Year, the Engineering / Science Foundation Year or the first year of study on any undergraduate programme. Awards will be made on the basis of academic merit. Offer holders who have achieved at least 75%, an average of B or GPA 3 out of 4 at High School for Foundation level and 75%, an average of B or GPA 3 out of 4 on an overseas Pre-University Foundation course for undergraduate level.30 June
Ghana1 award of $4,000 towards academic feesThe International Foundation Year, the Engineering / Science Foundation Year or the first year of study on any undergraduate programme. Awards will be made on the basis of academic merit and interviews will be held for shortlisted candidates in Ghana in June.30 June
Indonesia1 award of £5,000 towards academic feesThe International Foundation Year, the Engineering / Science Foundation Year or the first year of study on any undergraduate programme. Awards will be made on the basis of academic merit. For the Foundation programmes, offer holders who have achieved at least 7 out of 10 in their STTB SMU will be considered. For undergraduate programmes, offer holders who have met our minimum A Level or IB requirements (normally ABB-AAA or 32 – 36 points) or who have achieved GPA 3.0 out of 4.0 in their first year of an Indonesian University will be considered.30 June
Nigeria2 awards of £1,500 towards academic feesThe International Foundation Year, the Engineering / Science Foundation Year or the first year of study on any undergraduate programme. Awards will be made on the basis of academic merit. Offer holders who have achieved at least 5 A1-B2 grades at WAEC level or 75%+ on a recognised foundation programme will be considered.30 June

Level: Postgraduate Masters

South Korea2 awards of £2,500 towards academic feesAny master's programme. All offer holders who have achieved at least 80% in their undergraduate degree from a Korean university are eligible to apply. Awards will be made on the basis of academic merit.30 June
Egypt2 awards of £2,000 towards academic feesAny master's programme. Offer holders who have achieved a GPA of at least 75% or 3.0/4.0 are eligible to apply. Awards will be made on the basis of academic merit.30 June
